Brian’s background includes a PhD in Ecology, ten years of experience conducting applied and fundamental research in academic and applied settings, and peer-reviewed papers across a diversity of topics. His areas of expertise range from community ecology to climate change and statistical modeling. He also holds an adjunct faculty position in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at CU Boulder.

The Boulder Area Trails Coalition (BATCO) has its regular monthly meeting on Monday, January 25, at 7 p.m. at the Boulder Alfalfa’s grocery store community room. The store is located at 1651 Broadway in Boulder. The Community Room is located behind the store at the south end of the parking lot.

BATCO August 24 Meeting
Monthly Meeting: Monday, August 24, at 7 p.m. at Louisville Alfalfa’s
The Boulder Area Trails Coalition (BATCO) has its regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 24, at 7 p.m. at the Louisville Alfalfa’s grocery store community room. The store is located at 785 E. South Boulder Rd. in Louisville and the community room is in the back right corner of the store on the second floor. Discussion topics will include the North Trail Study area, Boulder County Parks and Open Space updates, and other trail-related news from around Boulder County. All are welcome and we will provide an open forum for our guests at the beginning of the meeting for any topics they wish to discuss.

The Boulder Area Trails Coalition (BATCO) has its regular monthly meeting on Monday, April 27, at 7 p.m.
Our special guest will be Steve Armstead of the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Staff. We’ll be having a conversation about OSMP, North Trail Study Area (NTSA), the Trail Around Boulder (TAB), interagency connections, and whatever else you would like to talk about! All are welcome.

The Boulder Area Trails Coalition (BATCO) has its regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 30, at 7 p.m. at the Spark Boulder meeting space at 1310 E. College Ave., Suite 100 on the Hill in Boulder. The meeting room is on the lowest level, below the food court. Enter through the main doors and the meeting room is on the left.
Our special guest will be Tom Isaacson of the City of Boulder Open Space Board of Trustees (OSBT). We’ll be having a conversation about OSMP, the Director search, North Trail Study Area (NTSA), Schnell (Chapman Drive), the Trail Around Boulder (TAB), interagency connections, and whatever else you would like to talk about! All are welcome.
Monthly Meeting: Monday, February 23, at Louisville Alfalfa’s
The Boulder Area Trails Coalition (BATCO) has its regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 23 at 7 p.m. at the Louisville Alfalfa’s grocery store meeting room.
Our special guest this month will be Tracy Winfree, Interim Director of the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks. Tracy brings a long history of successful projects and negotiations for the City of Boulder’s Transportation Department, and is breathing a new attitude of “Yes We Can!” into a department not exactly known for its positive atmosphere. Please plan to come to the meeting and share your priorities for OSMP!
We will also be discussing the latest developments in the plan for trails at Joder Ranch and the North TSA, an update on Boulder County Parks & Open Space’s trail plan at AHI/Double Dove, and other projects. We will also attend to some important matters such as social media and end user outreach, our bag credit promotion at Ideal Market in Boulder, and updates on the sales of the new 2015 BATCO map. All are welcome — please come with any other topics that you would like to discuss, or just to learn more!
The Louisville Alfalfa’s is located at 785 E. South Boulder Rd., which is on the northwest corner of South Boulder Rd. and Centennial Dr. just north of Old Town Louisville. The meeting room is in the rear of the store, on the right side and up a flight of stairs to the 2nd floor.
