Welcome to the glories of Fungus!

When I was a kid fungus fell into two categories, mushrooms, which you bought at the supermarket, and toadstools which grew in the wild and would kill you if eaten.

Then I married a Pole and visited Poland, and realized that it was not mushrooms and toadstools, but fungus, and some fungus taste delicious, and of course, some will kill you, slowly and painfully.

Naturally it's illegal to remove anything from the Open Space, but not everything is Open Space.

Having pointed out the up side of fungi heres a couple of sites which may be useful. Everyone is concerned about bears and lions, but the fact of the matter is, fungi are the real bad boys in the Open Space, killing many more people by ignorance every year, than all the "predators" combined.
